Don't read this....

So, I found out today that not only my Mom and Dad--who are borderline computer illiterate (but they're really getting better!)--but also, my 9 year old niece, now have their own blogs complete with custom layouts and pictures.... I figured, in order to be true to myself as an IT professional/tech junkie, that I MUST join this ever growing trend, and post my thoughts and interests on the "internets" for all to see!  My wife has been blogging for the past year or so, and always gets after me for not writing something on it, but really I think I've done her a favor, and I completely understand if you never come back to this blog again. I would recommend hers though. It has lots of interesting thoughts, recipes, pictures, book reviews, you name it.. find it at www.aaronandamyd.blogspot.com.

Amy and I moved from Laie, Hawaii in April of this year after graduating from BYU Hawaii, where we met. Mom and Dad are still there, and we both miss it so much. I'm really starting to understand why so many Hawaiian songs I heard on the radio there were about longing to go back. It truly is an amazing place, not just because it's beautiful, but the people and culture there is what has really stayed with me. Just last night I dreamt I was on this huge longboard catching waves at some unknown break. I could feel all the sensations of the waves lifting me up and the exhilaration of dropping down the face and riding towards the shore. Though I wouldn't call myself a great surfer by any means, I think it's one of the most relaxing, challenging, and fulfilling sports and for many it's a way of life.

We are now living in Salt Lake City, Utah where Amy and I are both working full time. We were both lucky enough to land "Dream" jobs, and find a great place to live at the mouth of city creek canyon just a few blocks from Temple Square and Downtown SLC. Looking back on the last month since we moved to Utah, everything that has happened for us could be nothing short of a gift from God.

There, I did it!! My wife will be so proud...
